Summary, etc | Abstract- LAMP is an efficient, specific, sensitive, and rapid strand displacement technique used for disease diagnosis in aquaculture. A highly specific LAMP procedure is standardized and optimized for WSSV. Based on the sequence of the ORF 14/15 region of Indian WSSV strains (Gen Bank accession no EF 468498 and EF 468499) six set of LAMP primers were designed. Time for the reaction was optimized for 30 min at an optimum temperature of 65°C. The sensitivity of this method is almost similar to that of nested PCR reaction. LAMP is cost effective when compared to PCR, therefore it is affordable for farmers. Rapidity, specificity and sensitivity of this technique make it an ideal diagnostic tool for detection of WSSV |
